2011 Olympus Series recap and bonus challenge update after week 3

The Olympus road to the US OPEN brought some great tennis starting with the Altanta Tennis Championships with 29 year old Mardy Fish taking the crown and beating fellow American Ryan Harrison.  The Farmers Classic the next week featured some repeat tennis from Mardy Fish taking on Ryan Harrison again and taking the victory and advancing to the finals.  In the final Mardy fish faced Ernests Guilbis for the first time and goes down after winning the first set.

After the Farmer's Classic in Los Angeles Mardy Fish leads the 2011 US OPEN bonus challenge with 115 points with Ernests Gulbis second at 70 pts and Ryan Harrison third with 50 pts.  The Men move next to the Legg Mason Tennis Classic for week 3.  We see another american player in the semi's with Donald Young taking on Radek Stepanek who incidentally is the oldes player in the top 100 at the age of 32.  It only takes Radek just over an hour to win over the american to advance the finals.  Radek is to face Monfils in the final and comes in with a winning record over the frenchmen.  Stepanek comes out the victor with a straight sets win and becomes the oldest player this year to take a ATP victory.  Mardy Fish continues to lead after 3 tournaments with 115 pts.  Continue watching the road to the open to see who finishes no. 1 and has the potential to add some series prize money to the US OPEN winnings.
