Racket stringing tip -when your short side is too long

Its bound to happen to you occasionally, especially if you didn't measure or preweave the short side of the racket. The first thing I would recommend is to check if you still have enough string left on the long side to complete your racket stringing. I generally count how many cross strings are in the frame and run the string over the frame and measure that way. If it looks like you are cutting it too close than I would recommend using the short side of the string and use it for your first cross string as well. Add a few pounds for tie off like you normally do and that is it, simple and effective way to keep from coming up short.

Of course this can be avoided altogether by preweaving the mains or measuring the short side prior to stringing!
