MRT Racket Stringing Basics Step 1

Lets break down the process of stringing a tennis racket in easy steps. I am going to assume you want to know how to string a tennis racket for the purpose of getting certified as a Master Racket Technician.
1. Review racket stringing patterns, you can do this by studying your current racket or by visiting the racket manufacturers website. Generally you will only find current models there however. A third way to access stringing patterns is by joining the USRSA and as a member you receive an up to date book containing all of the stringing patters for rackets ( this is a great resource for the beginning stringer). The book also includes positions of the correct tie off holes and I would highly recommend this invaluable tool. Once you understand the basics of string variations, hole configurations and string patterns you are ready for step 2.
